General Maintainance and Storage Guides

  • eFoil Power Module Maintenance

Everything marked XXX still needs to be clarified

  • Your JetWave eFoil must be removed from the water after operation. It is not suitable to be stored lying in water.

  • Never use aggressive cleaners or solvents to clean any components. Clean only with soapy fresh water.

  • Do not use a high-pressure cleaner for cleaning, but rather a hose with normal line pressure.

After every ride

  1. Disconnect and remove the battery from the board

  2. Check all components (mast, fuselage, wings, board, remote, battery) carefully for possible damage, corrosion or water ingress

  1. Dismantle the mast, fuselage and wings

  2. Rinse thoroughly with fresh water:

  • The entire surface of the board
  • Mast, fuselage and wings
  • Jetantrieb
  • Battery compartment and seals (ATTENTION only after the mast has been dismantled, see below!)
  • Remote control, especially around the trigger (see below!)

  1. Dry thoroughly with a clean cloth.

If the board remains assembled:
The board can remain assembled (except for the battery) between several uses for a maximum of 3 days. The prerequisite for this is that no water has penetrated into the battery compartment.

After each ride, proceed as follows:

  1. Disconnect and remove the battery from the board

  2. If the mast remains installed, the battery compartment must not be rinsed with running water. Instead, use a damp, clean cloth to remove sand and dirt from the seals and battery compartment. If water has entered the battery compartment, the mast must be separated from the board and everything must be rinsed thoroughly as above.

  3. Rinse all flanges and connection points between mast and board, mast and fuselage, wing and fuselage very thoroughly with a hose under normal line pressure.

  4. Thoroughly rinse the board, jet drive, mast, wings and fuselage with fresh water

Then wipe everything dry with a clean cloth.

Regular maintenance

  • Check the orange seal on the mast flange regularly. This must always be undamaged and free of sand, dirt and impurities.

  • Check the board, mast, fuselage and wings for possible damage or cracks. Only have these repaired by a professional surfboard or sailboat repairer.

  • After 3 uses at the latest, all electrical connection points must be treated with contact cleaner.

  • After 3 uses at the latest, all screw connections must be treated with Tef Gel.

  • After 3 days at the latest, dismantle the mast, fuselage and wings and wash them and the board itself thoroughly with fresh soapy water to remove salt, sand and other residues that build up.

  • Regularly use WD 40 on the hinges and locks to keep them moving.

Storage

  • Always store the eFoil and all its parts in a dry and clean environment

  • If stored for more than 3 days, all components must be dismantled, cleaned and treated according to the manual.

  • Ensure that all components have been dried sufficiently.

  • Apply contact cleaner to all electrical connection points

  • Pack the board and accessories in the bags provided and store everything in a clean, dry environment out of direct sunlight.

Remote Control Maintenance

After every ride

  1. Rinse the remote control thoroughly under running fresh water. Maintain a steady flow of water directly to the trigger. Meanwhile, press and release the trigger several times to completely remove sand, salt and other residues.

  2. XXX Do we have any rubber covers, removable screws etc. to inspect trigger, spring and magnet in it before and after season?

Storage

  • Store the remote control in a dry, clean place and never in direct sunlight.

  • XXX check procedure, necessity and charging status. Check the charging status of the remote control every 4 weeks. If it falls below 40%, charge the remote control to 60%.

Battery Maintenance

The JetWave battery is waterproof. However, it should remain dry whenever possible.

  • Avoid placing the battery in the sand. Sand and dirt can destroy the surface and find their way into cavities and cause leaks. Instead place it on the boards bag for example.

  • Do not charge the battery immediately after use but wait at least 30 minutes until the battery has cooled down.

  • Never clean with flammable, aggressive cleaners or solvents.

  • Clean only with a damp cloth (freshwater only!). Do not immerse or shower.

  • Never charge in direct sun.

  • Never charge unattended.

  • Never use or charge a damaged battery. Instead contact JetWave immediately.

After every ride

  1. Remove dirt and possible other residues with a damp cloth (fresh water).

  2. If water, especially salt water, gets into the battery compartment or on the battery, repeat cleaning with a damp cloth (fresh water) several times until all salt and other residues have been removed from the battery. Then clean the contacts with contact cleaner

Regular maintenance

  • Check the battery for possible damage before and after each use.

  • Clean all contacts regularly or when the battery compartment gets wet with contact cleaner.

  • Check the charger regularly for damage, especially to the cable, plug, housing or other parts.

Storage

  • Store the battery at temperatures between 10°C and 25°C

  • Only store the battery in a dry place with a maximum of 60% rel. humidity

  • Never store near heat sources such as heaters or ovens.

  • Never leave the battery in the car on hot days

  • Store the battery and charger out of the reach of children and pets

  • Always remove the plug from the charger immediately after each charging process and never store the battery connected to the charger.

  • Never store the battery fully charged or at less than 10%.

  • Only fully charge the battery if you are planning a ride

  • XXX For long-term or short-term storage, a charge level of XXX% is optimal.
  • XXX Procedure how to check charging status? How often?
  • XXX Deep Sleep? XXX Wakeup?
  • Before long-term storage, we recommend discharging the battery and then charging it to the recommended charge level of XXX%.
